I am a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford working in the Prakash Lab. Previously, I did my Ph.D. in the Physics department at UC Berkeley under Professor Edgar Knobloch working at the intersection of nonlinear dynamics, elasticity, and biophysics.

A simple equation modelling an inextensible elastic lining of an inner-lined tube subject to an imposed pressure difference is derived from a consideration of the idealised elastic properties of the lining and the pressure and soft-substrate forces.

The cubic-quintic Swift-Hohenberg equation (SH35) has been proposed as an order parameter description of several convective systems with reflection symmetry in the layer midplane, including binary fluid convection. We use numerical continuation, together with extensive direct numerical simulations (DNSs), to study SH35 with an additional nonvariational quadratic term to model the effects of breaking the midplane reflection symmetry.
